Although shrimp soup is not very common throughout Honduras, in certain municipalities on the northern coast of the country, you can find this delicious recipe preparation. We recommend following all instructions to the letter to achieve the best possible flavor.
Shrimp Soup
Ingredients
2 pounds of Shrimp
1 ½ liter of Water
1 cup of Milk
1 White onion
1 cup of Noodles
1 Green chili
1 Carrot
3 Potatoes
Achiote
Culantro
1 Garlic head
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this recipe, it is necessary to clean, peel, and devein the shrimp, reserving only the heads.
Step 2 : Make a broth with the shrimp heads by adding water, green chili, onion, garlic, achiote, and pepper, all previously cut and washed.
Step 3 : Once the broth is prepared, strain and set aside.
Step 4 : In a pot over the heat, add the potatoes and carrots cut into medium cubes.
Step 5 : When the potatoes are soft, add the milk and then the noodles.
Step 6 : Add the shrimp at the end and cook for about 5 minutes, adding cilantro, salt, and pepper to taste.
Step 7 : It is recommended to serve immediately and preferably hot to enjoy its delicious flavor to the fullest.
