Ingredients

1 pound of Jutes

1 Onion

1 Chili

1 Tomato

2 Garlic cloves

3 tablespoons of Margarine

2 liters of Water

½ tablespoon of Paprika

1 Shrimp broth cube

1 teaspoon of Ground cumin

1 pinch of Salt

2 Green plantains

1 Ripe banana

½ kilogram of Cassava

1 ½ cup of Coconut milk

1 Finely chopped celery stalk

¼ cup of Chopped cilantro

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation (simple version)

Step 1 : Rinse the jutes, remove the tip, and reserve. Finely chop the onion, chili, tomato, and garlic; set aside. Jutes Soup - Preparation - Step 1
Step 2 : Sauté the onion and chili in margarine for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Jutes Soup - Preparation - Step 2
Step 3 : Add the jutes and tomato and cook for 3 minutes. Add water, paprika, broth cube, cumin, salt, and bring to a boil. Jutes Soup - Preparation - Step 3
Step 4 : Incorporate the plantains, cassava, banana, coconut milk, celery, and cilantro; cook on low heat for 10 minutes and adjust seasoning before serving. Jutes Soup - Preparation - Step 4

Preparation

Step 1 : To start, rinse the jutes with plenty of water and then remove the tip using a knife.

Step 2 : Then, rinse them again and set aside.

Step 3 : Next, finely chop the onion, chili, tomato, and garlic, and reserve.

Step 4 : In a pot, melt the margarine and sauté the onion and chili for 2 minutes.

Step 5 : Then, add the garlic and sauté for 1 more minute.

Step 6 : Subsequently, add the jutes to the pot along with the tomato and sauté for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 7 : Once done, pour in the water, add the paprika, broth cube, cumin, salt, and pepper to taste, and bring to a boil.

Step 8 : Meanwhile, peel and chop the plantains, banana, and cassava.

Step 9 : When the soup is boiling, add the plantain and cassava, cover, and cook everything for 15 minutes.

Step 10 : After this time, add the banana, coconut milk, celery, and cilantro.

Step 11 : Cover again and cook on low heat for 10 minutes.

Step 12 : Finally, adjust the seasoning if needed, remove from heat, and serve.
