Preparation

Step 1 : The recipe begins by grating the coconut and extracting the milk.

Step 2 : The coconut milk is mixed with water to make three cups of liquid.

Step 3 : This liquid is then brought to a gentle simmer in a large pot.

Step 4 : Add two small sweet peppers, chopped garlic, a small chopped onion, cilantro leaves, salt, pepper, and a pinch of achiote to the liquid in the pot.

Step 5 : Once all the seasonings are in the pot, add the yuca cut into small pieces.

Step 6 : When the yuca is halfway cooked, include the green plantains.
