Ingredients

1 kilogram of Beans

3 liters of Water

3 tablespoons of Oil

1 cup of Coconut milk

1 tablespoon of Ground oregano

1 teaspoon of Ground cumin

1 pinch of Salt

1 Onion

1 Chili

3 Garlic cloves

¼ cup of Finely chopped cilantro

Grated cheese

1 cup of Bread crumbs

1 teaspoon of Ground cumin

½ teaspoon of Garlic powder

½ cup of Finely chopped onion

1 teaspoon of Paprika

Cornmeal meatballs

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

1 pinch of Pimienta

Preparation

Step 1 : The beans are washed and soaked in a container with water for a few hours.

Step 2 : Then, they are drained and placed in a pot with 3 liters of water, cooked for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until tender.

Step 3 : Once tender, turn off the heat and let it rest.

Step 4 : Reserve 3 cups of beans with little broth, which are placed in a blender and processed until a smooth paste is formed.

Step 5 : In a large container, add all the ingredients for the meat patties, mix, and pour in the processed beans.

Step 6 : Then, knead until everything is integrated and let rest for a few minutes.

Step 7 : Next, return the pot with the beans to the stove and make bean patties from the rested dough.

Step 8 : Add to a skillet with 1 tablespoon of oil and cook each until golden on both sides.

Step 9 : Once ready, add the patties to the pot along with coconut milk, the cornmeal meatballs, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and cook for 10 minutes.

Step 10 : Finely chop the onion, chili, garlic, and sauté for 3 minutes in the skillet with the rest of the oil.

Step 11 : Add this sauté to the pot along with the cilantro, cook for another 10 minutes, and remove from heat.

Step 12 : Serve with grated cheese to taste.
