It has its roots in the Garífuna culture of the country, where conch is considered a traditional and highly valued food.

Conch Soup
Ingredients
1 pound of Conch
2 Grated coconuts
3 Green bananas
3 Carrots
2 pounds of Yuca
2 Garlic cloves
2 Large white onions
2 Green chiles
2 Bouillon cubes
½ cup of Culantro
½ Stick of margarine
1 cup of Milk
Preparation
Step 1 : The recipe begins by chopping the onions, garlic, and chiles, and peeling the vegetables.
Step 2 : Then, sauté the vegetables in margarine, adding the bouillon cubes and culantro.
Step 3 : Separately, blend the coconut with the milk and add water to strain it, obtaining about ¾ liter of coconut milk.
Step 4 : Pour the strained mixture into the sautéed vegetables and cook over medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 5 : After this time, add the green banana to the preparation and cook for approximately 7 minutes until the banana softens.
Step 6 : Finally, add the previously peeled and chopped conch and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
