The Honduran maritime or seafood soup is one of the most consumed traditional dishes, thanks to its special flavor and nutritional value.
It has its roots in the coastal gastronomic tradition of the country, where fresh seafood ingredients form the basis of many recipes. This preparation combines the creaminess of the curd with the unique flavor of the clams, creating a dish full of taste and texture.
Clam Curd Soup
Ingredients
500 grams of Curd or hake
½ kilogram of Clams
1 Chopped in two
1 Finely chopped tomato
1 Chopped bell pepper
½ cup of White wine
2 Boiled eggs
2 Crushed garlic
1 teaspoon of Saffron
1 pinch of Salt
Parsley
Tortillas
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this recipe, the first step is to wash and clean the clams with plenty of water to remove impurities.
Step 2 : Then, place the clams in water just to cover them, add 3 tablespoons of salt, and cover with a clean kitchen towel.
Step 3 : Reserve.
Step 4 : In a pot, add 2 liters of water, one garlic clove, bay leaf, parsley, and half an onion.
Step 5 : When the water boils, add the fish and salt to taste.
Step 6 : After 10 minutes, add the clams and cook over low heat for an additional 25 minutes.
Step 7 : Once done, remove the broth that remains from the fish and set aside.
Step 8 : In a hot skillet, add the olive oil, half of the chopped onion, and the chopped tomato.
Step 9 : Sauté the onion and add a garlic clove.
Step 10 : Then, remove from the skillet and add the fish, sautéing for one minute.
Step 11 : Add the broth from the fish, tomato, boiled eggs, sautéed onion, salt, parsley, pepper, and saffron.
Step 12 : Mix everything and serve the soup hot with tortillas.
