Stewed Pork Chops

Ingredients

4 Pork chops

1 teaspoon of Thyme

1 teaspoon of Dried oregano

1 pinch of Salt

2 Crushed garlic cloves

1 Grated small onion

2 tablespoons of Olive oil

1 Bay leaf

100 grams of Diced ham in small cubes

½ cup of Tomato sauce

2 cups of Beef broth

Chopped fresh cilantro

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : Marinate the pork chops with oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper to taste, and let them rest for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.

Step 2 : Sear the chops on both sides in a large skillet with 3 tablespoons of oil, cooking them for 3 minutes per side.

Step 3 : Then remove and set aside.

Step 4 : In the same skillet, sauté the garlic along with the onion for 2 minutes.

Step 5 : Add the ham, bay leaf, and tomato sauce, season to taste with salt and pepper, and sauté everything for 4 minutes.

Step 6 : Incorporate the beef broth, cover, and when it starts to boil, add the pork chops.

Step 7 : Cook on low heat for 20 to 25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

Step 8 : Finally, remove from heat and serve the stewed pork chops, garnished with some chopped fresh cilantro on top.

Step 9 : They can be accompanied with rice and slices of ripe plantain.
