Shredded Pork Sandwich
Ingredients
1 Chopped white onion
1 Red onion in strips
½ Shredded or chopped cabbage
½ Yellow butter stick
4 Cream cheese slices
8 Cloves of garlic
2 teaspoons of Ground chili
1 tablespoon of Sofrito
2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
¾ cup of White distilled vinegar
1 teaspoon of Sweet paprika
1 teaspoon of Hot paprika
⅓ cup of Ketchup
2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
⅓ cup of Fine brown sugar
1 Bay leaf
1½ kilogram of Pork shoulder
Hamburger bun
4 cups of Water
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this delicious sandwich, start by slicing the red onion and cabbage into thin strips.
Step 2 : Then, in a large pot, add the spices, bay leaf, and pork along with the water.
Step 3 : Bring this mixture to a boil for 5 minutes, then reduce the heat to low.
Step 4 : Cook on low heat for approximately 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Step 5 : When the meat is ready and easily shreddable, remove from heat.
Step 6 : Shred the meat and then simmer the sauce over medium heat until it reduces to a third of its original volume.
Step 7 : Once the sauce is reduced, add the shredded meat back into it and season to taste.
Step 8 : Sauté the red onions in yellow butter, and finally, serve the meat on the hamburger bun to enjoy this exquisite sandwich.
