The Honduran pork cazuela is a traditional dish with roots in the fusion of indigenous and Spanish flavors.

Ingredients

1 pound of Pork ribs

1 pound of Pork loin

1 pinch of Salt

2 Green plantains

½ pound of Peeling yuca

2 Large potatoes

1 Carrot

½ Cabbage

5 Tomatoes

1 Parsnip

1 Green chili

1 Onion

2 Garlic cloves

1 tablespoon of Oil

3 cups of Water

2 Bay leaves

1 tablespoon of Chicken broth

1 tablespoon of Ground oregano

1 teaspoon of Ground cumin

3 Ripe plantains

Frying oil

1 teaspoon of Sugar

¼ cup of Chopped cilantro

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : Marinate the meats with salt and pepper and let rest for half an hour.

Step 2 : Add the onion, tomatoes, chili, and garlic finely chopped to form a sofrito.

Step 3 : Incorporate the remaining seasonings and vegetables, except for the ripe plantains, and cook for 15 minutes.

Step 4 : Then add the plantains and cook for 5 more minutes.

Step 5 : The dish can be served with rice or tortillas.
