Nowadays, it is easy to find this Honduran traditional chicken even on the streets of Honduras (especially on the northern coast of the country).

Honduran Chuco Chicken

Ingredients

1 pound of Chicken

1 cup of Wheat flour

1 cup of Bread crumbs

2 Eggs

3 cups of Vegetable oil

2 Green plantains

2 Tomatoes

1 Green chili

½ White onion

½ cup of Milk

4 Cabbage leaves

5 Garlic cloves

Spices (tajín, vinegar, cilantro, mustard, tomato sauce, honey, cumin, rosemary, oregano, paprika, garlic salt, lime juice, sea salt)

Preparation

Step 1 : Marinate the chicken for 3-4 hours with mustard, garlic, lime, and salt.

Step 2 : For the sauce, blend milk, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, mustard, oregano, rosemary, lime, and honey.

Step 3 : For the chimol, combine tomato, chili, onion, vinegar, lime, oregano, cumin, and salt.

Step 4 : Prepare the salad with cabbage, carrot, cilantro, vinegar, lime, cumin, pepper, and salt.

Step 5 : Next, bread the chicken with seasoned flour and fry until golden.

Step 6 : Fry plantain slices with sea salt.

Step 7 : Finally, assemble the dish with the plantain slices, chicken, salad, chimol, and sauce.
