Papaya Candy
Ingredients
4 cups of Peeled and chopped green papayas
1 cup of Rapadura sugar
2 cups of White sugar
7 cups of Water
6 Cinnamon sticks
Preparation
Step 1 : In a pot, add 4 cups of water and 4 cups of chopped papayas and bring to a boil.
Step 2 : Drain the water, rinse the papayas again, add 2 cups of water, and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Step 3 : Drain and let the papayas dry.
Step 4 : In another pot, combine the rapadura, 2 cups of sugar, 3 cups of water, and cinnamon sticks. Bring to a gentle boil for about 30 minutes or until the mixture thickens.
Step 5 : Once the mixture has thickened, add the papayas and cook on low heat for about 20 minutes.
Step 6 : And it's ready!
