Delicious Honduran beverage made with milk and rice, refreshing and perfect to share with family.
The rice chicha is a very traditional Honduran drink prepared in the rural areas of the country. It is made from milk and rice, making it very tasty and refreshing, ideal for enjoying on the weekend with family.
Rice Chicha
Ingredients
3 cups of Rice
2 liters of Water
1 cup of Milk
1 Evaporated milk can
1 Ground cinnamon bag
1 tablespoon of Vanilla essence
Sugar to taste
1 Clove bag
1 pinch of Salt
1 can of Condensed milk
Ice cubes
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare Honduran rice chicha, start by soaking the rice with 4 cups of water in a container overnight.
Step 2 : The next day, place the rice along with the remaining water into a pot.
Step 3 : Add the cup of milk and evaporated milk, then cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
Step 4 : Once cooked, let the contents of the pot cool, then blend with ground cinnamon, sugar to taste, vanilla essence, and condensed milk.
Step 5 : If desired, add ice and blend again.
Step 6 : Pour the mixture into a container, add salt and cloves, and mix well.
Step 7 : Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours before enjoying.
