Ingredients
8 liters of Airy white grape must, unfermented
2 liters of 9-degree grape alcohol
150 milliliters of Distilled water
½ liter of Aged wine
150 grams of Sugar
8 Fennel seeds
2 Orange or mandarin peel
1 Lemon peel
4 Cinnamon sticks
2 Vanilla pods
4 Cloves
1 Rosemary branch
6 Mint leaves
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare Honduran mistela, start by mixing the water and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until a thick syrup forms.
Step 2 : Once ready, strain the must and combine it with the syrup, alcohol, aged wine, spices, and citrus peels in a jar.
Step 3 : Then, let the jar rest in a dark, cool place for 30 days, shaking it daily.
Step 4 : After this period, let the mistela rest for an additional 3 days to allow the sediment to settle.
Step 5 : After the 3 days, strain the mistela and transfer it to a clean jar.
Step 6 : Finally, the delicious Honduran mistela will be ready to enjoy.
