Delicious Honduran beverage based on milk and rice, refreshing and perfect for sharing with family.
The rice chicha is a traditional Honduran drink often prepared in rural areas of the country. Made with milk and rice, it is very tasty and refreshing, ideal to enjoy on a weekend with family.
Chicha de Arroz
Ingredients
3 cups of Rice
2 liters of Water
1 cup of Milk
1 Can of evaporated milk
1 Small packet of ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon of Vanilla essence
Sugar to taste
1 Small packet of cloves
1 pinch of Salt
1 can of Sweetened condensed milk
Ice cubes
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare Honduran rice chicha, start by soaking the rice with 4 cups of water in a container overnight.
Step 2 : The next day, place the rice with the remaining water in a pot.
Step 3 : Add the cup of milk and the evaporated milk, and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
Step 4 : Once cooked, let the contents cool, then blend with ground cinnamon, sugar to taste, vanilla essence, and condensed milk.
Step 5 : If desired, add ice and blend again.
Step 6 : Pour the mixture into a container, add salt, cloves, and mix well.
Step 7 : Then, refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours before enjoying.
