Zapotillos
Ingredients
1 cup of Milk
1 cup of Sugar
1 Egg yolk
3 Drops of yellow dye
8 Cloves
1 Cinnamon stick
1 Pinch of baking soda
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this recipe, place the milk, sugar, and cinnamon stick in a pot over medium heat.
Step 2 : Add a few drops of dye and let it boil over high heat.
Step 3 : Once the milk is boiling, lower the heat and remove the cinnamon.
Step 4 : After the mixture rests, start beating and add the egg yolk and a pinch of baking soda, beating slowly for a couple of minutes until the desired consistency is achieved.
Step 5 : It is recommended to use a wooden spoon for better results.
Step 6 : Then, take a bit of the mixture and form a "zapotillo" with your hands, holding with both palms and slightly turning until achieving the desired round shape.
Step 7 : Place a clove on top, pass it through sugar, and serve.
