Ingredients

2 pounds of Ripe zapote

Sweet rind

1 cup of Orange juice

2 Medium lemons

1 tablespoon of Vanilla essence

2 Clove tea bags

3 Cinnamon sticks

½ cup of Rum

4 cups of Water

Preparation

Step 1 : Wash the zapotes, remove the skins, cut them in half, and remove the seeds.

Step 2 : Then, place them in a pot with 4 cups of water, cinnamon sticks, and clove tea bags, stirring gently.

Step 3 : When the water is about to boil, add the sweet rind to taste, stir until fully dissolved, add the orange juice, and squeeze the lemon juice, removing the seeds beforehand.

Step 4 : Next, remove the pot from the heat and check the texture of the zapote.

Step 5 : If desired, add the rum.

Step 6 : Finally, let it cool and refrigerate or leave at room temperature.
