Ingredients

6 Ripe plantains

2 cups of Brown sugar

1 Cinnamon stick

2 cups of Water

Preparation

Step 1 : To prepare delicious plantains in honey Honduran style, first bring water to a boil in a pot.

Step 2 : Meanwhile, cut the ripe plantains into long slices, but not too thin.

Step 3 : Once the water is boiling, add the plantain slices and a cinnamon stick.

Step 4 : Cook the plantains until they're tender, which can take approximately 25 minutes.

Step 5 : Then, add the brown sugar or panela to the boiling water, allowing a honey-like consistency to form.

Step 6 : It is recommended to poke the plantains with a fork so they absorb the sweet flavor well.

Step 7 : Once ready, remove the plantains from the water and serve accompanied by curd cheese and fried beans.

Step 8 : If desired, you can add a little butter for an extra touch.
