Ingredients

4 American oranges

1 ½ cup of White sugar

¼ cup of Pineapple juice

2 tablespoons of Almonds

1 cup of All-purpose flour

2 teaspoons of Baking powder

2 ½ teaspoons of Ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon of Nutmeg

¼ cup of Parmesan cheese

3 Eggs

1 ¼ cup of Vegetable oil

1 tablespoon of Yellow butter

3 tablespoons of Dark rum

1 tablespoon of Orange peel

1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract

1 cup of Apple juice

½ cup of Sugar

¼ teaspoon of Chili flakes

Preparation

Step 1 : Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Step 2 : Then, grease the mold with vegetable oil and cut parchment paper to cover the walls and bottom of the mold, re-greasing with yellow butter.

Step 3 : Chop the almonds and thinly slice the oranges.

Step 4 : In a separate bowl, mix two tablespoons of sugar with pineapple juice and pour into the mold, covering the surface and walls.

Step 5 : Next, place the orange slices on the bottom of the mold without forming a very thick layer.

Step 6 : In a bowl, combine the flour, parmesan cheese, and ground spices.

Step 7 : Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the remaining sugar until a dense texture is achieved, gradually adding the oil at high speed.

Step 8 : Then, add the rum, vanilla extract, orange zest, and chopped almonds to the egg and sugar mixture.

Step 9 : Add the dry ingredients in two parts at low speed, and pour the mixture into the mold.

Step 10 : Bake for approximately 40 minutes.

Step 11 : Subsequently, let the cake rest in the mold for 5 minutes, then remove and place on a wire rack.

Step 12 : In a saucepan, mix the sugar with apple juice and chili flakes, cooking over low heat until a slightly thick texture is obtained.

Step 13 : This syrup is used to glaze the surface of the orange cake.
