About its origin
Macheteadas are a very popular dessert in Honduras, especially in the northern region of the country.
Although their exact origin is unknown, it is believed they were created by peasant families in the region, using the ingredients they had available to create cheap and delicious desserts.
They are called this because of the marks or cuts made on their surface during preparation, which resemble the notches left by a machete on plants.
