Loquat Jam
Ingredients
15 Loquats
Sugar
Sweet rind
1 cup of Loquat seeds
2 Ground cinnamon packets
1 pinch of Salt
2 Clove packets
1 teaspoon of Vanilla essence
1 liter of Water
Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare Honduran-style loquat jam, first wash the loquats and remove the seeds. Then, cut them into small pieces and toast the seeds.
Step 2 : Next, place the loquats in a pot with the water, sweet rind, and sugar.
Step 3 : Cook the mixture over low heat until the loquats are completely dissolved.
Step 4 : Once dissolved, add the toasted seeds, cinnamon, cloves, salt, and vanilla.
Step 5 : Cook the mixture for about 20 minutes, checking to ensure the loquats are cooked through.
Step 6 : Finally, let the jam cool and enjoy it accompanied by cookies and orange juice.
