Cheese and Strawberry Flan
Ingredients
1 cup of Sugar
1 tablespoon of Water
1 ½ cup of Malteada
1 can of Sweetened condensed milk
5 Eggs
1 ½ cup of Cream cheese spread
2 tablespoons of Vanilla essence
1 cup of Chopped strawberries
1 cup of White sugar
¼ cup of Apple nectar
¼ cup of Peach nectar
¼ cup of Water
1 Cinnamon stick
Preparation
Step 1 : In a pot, combine all the ingredients for the flan except the cinnamon.
Step 2 : Cook over medium heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until it reaches a thick texture.
Step 3 : Allow to cool.
Step 4 : In a small saucepan, heat the sugar with water over medium heat until a caramel forms.
Step 5 : Pour the caramel into the flan mold to cover the bottom.
Step 6 : In a bowl, mix the malteada, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, cream cheese, and vanilla until well combined.
Step 7 : Pour this mixture into the mold and bake at 350°F (about 175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes in a water bath.
Step 8 : Once cooked, let the flan rest at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Step 9 : Finally, carefully unmold the flan and serve, topped with the delicious strawberry sauce.
