Ingredients

Pork Crackling Pupusas

1 kilogram of Pork Crackling

4 cups of Warm Water

4 cups of Corn Flour

1 ½ tablespoon of Salt

180 grams of Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

1 Onion

1 Chili

2 Crushed Garlic Cloves

2 tablespoons of Oil

1 pinch of Salt

1 pinch of Pepper

Preparation

Step 1 : In a bowl, add the pork crackling along with one cup of water and let it hydrate for 10 minutes.

Step 2 : Then, transfer to a processor or blender and blend until you get a dense, ground consistency.

Step 3 : Add the mozzarella, onion, garlic, and chili previously sautéed in oil, along with salt and pepper. Mix well and set aside.

Step 4 : In another bowl, prepare the dough by mixing the flour, salt, and the remaining 3 cups of water.

Step 5 : Knead until firm, smooth, and non-sticky.

Step 6 : Then, take a portion of the dough and form it into a ball, making a hole in the center.

Step 7 : Add one and a half tablespoons of the pork crackling and cheese filling, remove any excess dough, and shape into an oval with your hands.

Step 8 : Place the pupusas on a preheated skillet over medium heat and cook on both sides until golden.

Step 9 : Repeat the process with the remaining dough.

Step 10 : Finally, serve the pupusas hot alongside your preferred salsa.
