Ingredients

1 pound of Corn flour

2 cups of Water

1 teaspoon of Achiote powder

½ teaspoon of Baking soda

½ teaspoon of Baking powder

1 pinch of Salt

Vegetable oil

1 Diced onion

3 Grated garlic cloves

1 pound of Ground beef

4 tablespoons of Tomato paste

Cumin

2 Diced potatoes

1 cup of Beef broth

Preparation

Step 1 : In a bowl, mix the ingredients from the flour to the salt and pepper, kneading until obtaining a firm dough.

Step 2 : Then, form equal-sized balls and set aside.

Step 3 : In a skillet over medium heat with oil, sauté the onion with the garlic.

Step 4 : Once the onion is translucent, add the meat, seasoning it with tomato paste, cumin, salt, and pepper.

Step 5 : Next, add the potatoes, mixing them with the meat and adding the broth, then cover the skillet and let the potatoes cook.

Step 6 : Once ready, remove from heat and let it cool.

Step 7 : Prepare a bag by cutting out two circles for placing and forming the tortilla.

Step 8 : Flatten each dough ball to form the tortilla, placing a bit of the meat mixture in the center, and closing by joining the edges to seal everything.

Step 9 : Repeat this step with each dough ball and filling.

Step 10 : Finally, fry the pasties in a pot or skillet with plenty of hot oil until golden.

Step 11 : Drain and serve with salad or chismol as desired.
