A traditional appetizer that proudly bears the pseudonym of our country, and in Honduras, no dish can be considered Honduran if it doesn't include as a main ingredient... beans.
This recipe has its roots in the rich culinary history of Honduras, where authentic flavors blend in a unique way to delight those who have the privilege to taste it.
Catrachitas
Ingredients
2 cups of Cooked beans
½ Chopped onion
1 Chopped jalapeño pepper
1 pinch of Salt
10 Small corn tortillas
½ pound of Grated fresh cheese
Oil for frying
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : In a hot skillet with oil, fry the small tortillas for 5 minutes on each side.
Step 2 : Then, place them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Step 3 : In a pot, place the cooked beans and season with onion, salt, and pepper.
Step 4 : Let the mixture boil.
Step 5 : Use a spoon to distribute the beans over the tortillas and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Step 6 : To serve, place a small bowl in the center of the tray with chopped jalapeño pepper and arrange the catrachitas around it.
