Through the ethnocultural union of the various communities existing before the arrival of Columbus, the Honduran nation was born.
A bit of history
Binsand Root Wal

It is a dish that gains consistency based on beans and rice, which is very popular in the Honduran Mosquitia.
With the arrival of the Spaniards, the symbiosis between the indigenous people and the conquerors occurred, and from this mestizaje, the Honduran people emerged.
Among the nine ethnic groups in Honduras, we find the Misquitos, whose origin dates back to the 17th century, resulting from a social and biological mix of Tawahkas, Africans, and Europeans, who lived in the north near Cape Gracias a Dios, between Honduras and Nicaragua.
Today, we have the opportunity to enjoy the typical food of Gracias a Dios, the ancestral Misquito cuisine.
Dunplin Kuku Wal

It is a special Honduran bean soup with a particular preparation method that also contains coconut milk and other ingredients that combine perfectly to offer a variety of textures and flavors that will captivate all diners.
The basis of the table
Typical Misquito dishes are based on plantains, malanga, yuca, green bananas, and coconuts; along with rice, beans, beef, and fish.
Some of the dishes include:
Traditional Beef Tapado

This beef-based recipe is a typical dish that gets its name from the way its ingredients are cooked.
Binsand raíz wal: It consists of cooking beans in coconut milk, and rice is added during boiling. It is usually served with yuca and boiled green banana.
Dunplin KuKu wal: Similar to the previous one, but the preparation technique differs slightly. Cooked beans are mixed with coconut milk and meatballs made from flour.
Tapauh: A soup that can be made with meat or fish, accompanied by vegetables like green banana, and coconut milk is added.
Wabul

It is considered a traditional food from Honduras, rich in nutrients and completely organic.
Wabul: A porridge made from mashed plantains or yuca, cooked until it becomes a dough, to which coconut milk is added.
